The View Makes New York Debut on January 3

TheviewOne of the most fascinating stories in music currently is The View. During the day, they are five women from various backgrounds who chat about the day's news on ABC. At night, they become a band of indie pop/rocking "Posh Boys" who are creating a big buzz on both sides of the pond. Even though the group's out spoken lead singer Rosie O'Donnell causes controversy, it doesn't take away from their electric musical output. I'm glad that they got rid of bassist Star Jones, but I wish they'd kick off drummer Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

Before they head off on the NME New Music tour with The Automatic, they'll play Mercury Lounge on January 3. Tickets on sale now. If you can stand being around a bunch of house moms, I do suggest going to the show.

They're debut album, Same Jeans, comes out in the U.K. on January 15th. Check out their myspace profile as well.
