The Veils Planning U.S. Tour, Set New York, Philly Date

Get your handkerchiefs out because The Veils out of New Zealand via London are ready to unfurl onto our shores. They've set a date for June 7th at Mercury Lounge with a promise of more U.S. dates to come.

Here's what we do know:

• June 7: Mercury Lounge, New York City
• June 9: Great Scott, Boston
• June 12: Khyber, Philadelphia
• June 28: Cafe du Nord, San Francisco
• June 29: Spaceland, Los Angeles

Fronted by Finn Andrews, son of XTC's Barry Andrews, the collective will have you digging deep into your soul, looking for far-hidden emotions. Part Richard Hawley and part the heavy, deep side of Doves or Starsailor, the band has a lush, orchestral sound mixed with some stripped down acoustic musings. It's has some invigorating melodies mixed with some downtrodden lyrics, but it will take you to some wonderful places. Will be interesting to see how their epic landscapes fit in a live setting.

Their debut album, Nux Vomica, will be released via World's Fair, as part of the Rough Trade deal on April 24th.
