I'm still bummed that I'm missing out of the second edition of BBC Electric Proms concert series at Camden's Roundhouse. This year's edition has Kaiser Chiefs with film composer David Arnold conducting an orchestra, Mark Ronson backed by an orchestra and Ray Davies with some surprise guests (one being Johnny Borell). The other half of the series is a platform for some emerging acts. Cold War Kids and Brooklyn's Battles will take part in the festivities, but some other names will also take to the stage.
The New Cassettes have already been touted by The Strokes and Adam Green. The spastic post-punk poppers aren't short on energy or catchy tunes. Here's a good introduction to the lads.
Radio Luxembourg comes from the land of Super Furry Animals, geographically and musically. These high-pitched Welshmen make playful pop music in the vein of a barbershop quartet. You can the feel that each song was meant to be played while rowing a boat with your lady friend holding a parasol.
Sam Isaac is a troubadour-styled singer-songwriter who's been doing it himself for a while -- homemade-demos, self-released singles. When you hear him, Conor Oberst's vocal style comes to mind with the lyrics and storytelling of Billy Bragg.

Glad you're liking Sam Isaac sir - we should be showcasing the video for his new single over on the Alcopop Records blog tomorrow - great song :-)
