One of the songs I played today on the show was from an upstart band from the UK. They're called The Kabeedies, a four piece from Norwich who have the makings of a seriously exciting band. That have the exuberance of Los Campesinos, but the Kadeedies sound is more entrenched in the ska-pop of the early 80s. Think Madness or Altered Images meets Love Is All.
I saw their set online on the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury (the same platform the Ting Tings made heads turn last year). I found The Kabeedies exciting and fun to watch -- one big dance fest on stage with the members creating a party atmosphere with their boy-girl vocals, uptempo guitar riffs and lot of boundless energy. It's almost odd to see a band having fun on stage -- that's something I wish I would see more often.
They've opened for The Futureheads recently, and are setting off on a small UK tour of their own. Of course, I will keep an eye out for any stateside love.
In the meantime, here's a song I played on the show, it's called, Lovers Ought To?

Great song, thanks!!!
