Gaggle can be my first exciting new act I've heard this year.
Let's start by recycling my jokes about bands with 20+ members:
-- roll call takes an hour
-- name tags must be worn at all time
-- band photos must be accompanied by those color-by-numbers outlines
-- there might be times on stage where band members meet each other for the first time
-- they all sleep together in one bed with names over their heads, like the Seven Dwarfs.
For me, the jokes are endless. But what's not a joke is a fantastic idea for a band -- get twenty girls singing at the same time. The result is the world's only all girl alt-choir band making dance music. What I do know is that these gals can kick those dipshits from Glee.
The possibility for awesomeness is endless ... or they can all kill each other on tour, Battle Royale style. What they have on their myspace page is so ... like wow ... and different. It's strong, tough and it works.
We can start with their debut song with the chorus, "I'm a drunk, I'm a drunk."
Check out "I Hear Flies"
