If you been watching football, you've seen NFL's Play 60 ad featuring The Go! Team's The Power Is On. I've always said that the band tunes play like intro to sporting events, so that seems appropriate.
In any event, Ian Parton and his buddies are put the finishing touches on their third LP, Rolling Blackouts. It will see the light of day here on February 1st on Memphis Industries. Guests on the album include Satomi Matsuzaki of Deerhoof, Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast, Dominique Young Unique and Soko (who also guests on that Gospel Music project I mentioned last week).
I loved their debut album Thunder, Lightening, Strike for it's school year chants, mishmash of smaples and fun attitude. The second album was kind of a let down, seemed like more of the same. Third album, we'll see.
This is the tracklisting:
Ready to Go Steady
Buy Nothing Day
Voice Yr Choice
The Running Range
Black Like 8 Track
I like that track song, tee hee.
And here's the first track off that album. It's called T.O.R.N.A.D.O.
