Ben Folds Five played their first show since they started recorded together last week at MountainJam Fest in Hunter Mtn., NY. Now, they are playing their first New York City show in like ... not a friggin clue. The last time I saw Ben Folds Five was at Maxwell's in like 1995. So suck it.
Anyway, if you have $62.50, you can see them at Central Park Summerstage on September 14th. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Saturday at 10am. Other U.S. Festival dates are trickling in, with an apperance at Bonnaroo this weekend and a UK tour is set for November.
In anticipation for their new album, their long-awaited follow-up to 1999's The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner, the three have initiated a PledgeMusic campaign to raise raising awareness to promote Music Education and the field of Music Therapy. You can either get the new CD when it's ready to having your name in a song.
