Just as quickly as their turned a few demos into a full-fledged album, the Vaccines have put the finishing touches on their follow-up to last year's What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?. The sophomore album is entitled The Vaccines Come Of Age, which will be out September 3rd in the UK and the day after in the U.S. For this album, they called upon producer Ethan Johns (Ryan Adams, Laura Marling). As Justin Young told NME, “The record is a lot more intimate and close than the first record."
For the summer, the foursome will play a multitude of world festivals like Terreaneo Festival in Croatia, Positivus Festival in Latvia and Super!Sonic in Korea. Nobody rocks like Latvia. Furthermore, they will open some dates for world's most over-rated band Red Hot Chili Peppers in countries like Estonia, Lithuania and Ukraine. BUT! They have a couple of headlines dates back in NYC and one in L.A.
- September 10: Bowery Ballroom -- New York
- September 11: Music Hall of Williamsburg -- Brooklyn
- September 13: Troubadour -- Los Angeles
As promised, they've released the video for the first single from the new album. It's called No Hope, watch out for that intro. It's a doozy:
