Crocodiles came and conquered. By the far, the most dynamic band of the afternoon, the five-piece are hot off their new album, Endless Flowers (first on Frenchkiss Records), and if you don't fall for their modern take on classic rock, shoegaze, garage, dream pop then you need to rethink your choice of leisure activities. They wear influences on their sleeves, but I find the way they handle their throwback melodies, sun-drenched dark tones and driving spirit to be something all their own. The new album is definitely their best since they've expanded from the duo. I soak up their fuzzed out guitars, psyched out organs and the controlled chaos in every song.
As mentioned before, their set was the first after the nearby electrical fire was put out. This, Brandon was hyped up and was dancing around the stage -- just enjoying the moment and large turnout.
