This post has all of my favorite things -- British music, sports, and beer. All it needs is boobies and fine Italian food and I'm in heaven.
As I mentionded last year, Elbow composed the music for the BBC coverage of the Summer Olympics games. The song is called First Steps, it doesn't feature the voice of Guy Garvey, but it has enough marching drums, soaring orchestra tones and a choir of millions that will make you want to climb a mountain, or just sit on your couch and watch handball. The singer explained to Q Magazine, "Several people listening to it have been moved to tears, and that’s just the music on its own. So when you put the images of what those people are going to be doing out there, there won’t be a dry eye in the house, hopefully."
If the song is not your thing, then maybe you prefer their beer. You can drink their cask ale and help a worth cause. Proceeds go towards OxFam Famine Appeal. It's called Build a Rocket Boys beer.
‘build a rocket boys!’ is a golden ale with a rich balanced body, smooth bitterness, subtle tang of malt and fruity aroma. A premium session ale at 4.0% ABV, available in cask and bottle.
If you REALLY want some Elbow beer, then you can buy an 8-bottle case online and enjoy those $70 shipping fees to the U.S.
