The last time I saw Modest Mouse, Johnny Marr was on guitar ... and I was this close to him. I could have shook his leg and screamed, "Oh my God, you're Johnny Frickin Marr". No Marr this time around, but Modest Mouse had the biggest crowd reaction of the day. Preppy stoners love that Brock.
The setlist:
- Paper Thin Walls
- Bury Me With It
- Fire It Up
- Dashboard
- Heart of Mine
- Custom Concern
- Satin in a Coffin
- Bukowski
- Gravity Rides Everything
- The View
- Dramamine
- Shit Luck
- Tiny Cities Made of Ashes
- Missed the Boat
The band aren't wasting anytime coming back to the tri-state area. On the 20th, Brock & Co. return to the Wellmont in Montclair, Jerz. The following weekend is when they play Firefly Festival in Delaware along with Black Keys, Jack White, The Killers, Passion Pit and bunch of other mainstream bands. It's the same weekend as Exponential in Camden, so I'm passing on Firefly. Plus, there's no good reason to be in Delaware, even with the no sales tax.
