Conor O'Brien (aka Villagers) is back on the music scene, and he's bringing his sophomore album with him. The Mercury Prize nominee returns to Domino Records for the follow-up to Becoming the Jackel. {Awayland} will see the light of day of April 9 in the U.S.
For this album, the Irishman leans more towards wider soundscapes than the acoustic introspection of his debut. He looked towards Nick Drake, David Axelrod and Curtis Mayfield to create his new opus. The first single from the album does have grand ideas. The song is called "Nothing Arrived"
