Before I rehash the year in music, let's fast-forward to 2013 and the bright new music that we can enjoy. First up, we have new Moshi Moshi signees Fiction, who will make their splash on March 4th with their hotly tipped debut album, The Big Other. The music is filled with electronic juiciness, rich with quirky melodic passages and plenty of brightness.
The London four-piece called upon a coupon of high profile producers for their debut. You have mastermind Simian Mobile Disco's James Ford of Klaxons, Arctic Monkeys and Florence + the Machine on board as well as Ash Workman (Metronomy, Summer Camp). In fact, Metronomy is the band you'll most think of when you hear Fiction.
Time to sample some music. Their first single is a fine example of style. It's called "Careful":
