We can all scratch off a couple of UK bands on your must-see list, because they ain't coming to the U.S. at all.
S.C.U.M. is no more, which is major bummer because I was getting good at coming up with anachronism for them-- Spicy Coconuts Under Monchhichi, Special Circustance Unite Morons.
On their facebook:
“It seems an appropriate time to announce after a long hiatus, SCUM have collectively decided that we will no longer play or continue to write together. We’d all like to thank you for all of your support but we have chosen to part ways and work on new projects. See you all very soon.”
The Yoko in this situation is Peaches Geldof, who had a baby with lead singer Tom Cohen.
In their five years, they released one album with Mute Records, Again Into Eyes.
Then we have little known Welsh indie pop outfit, Race Horses. Who were on the upswing after their debut album was release last year and subsequently landed a coverted opening gig with Kaiser Chiefs on their Euro tour.
On their facebook:
"We are sorry to announce that we are splitting up as band.
We would like to sincerely thank everyone who has supported us, come to our gigs and listened to our music.
We have enjoyed the past few years and are proud of what we have done
together, but it's the end of the road for us as a band. It is clear
that, creatively, we are bound for different places.
Sadly, this means that we will have to cancel the February tour dates with the Kaiser Chiefs, and all other upcoming listed dates."
There's also a one and done spectulation with Wu Lyf. Someone stop the madness!
