Everybody's favorite indie pop couple from Los Angeles, Kisses, is back. Jesse Kivel (of the band Princeton) and Zinzi Edmundson have put the finishing touched on their sophomore album, Kids in L.A. It should be a dynamite album when you have Saint Etienne's Pete Wiggs and Tim Laracombe producing the affair.
Here's what they say about the new release: While The Heart of the Nightlife took listeners on a neon-hued journey through Palm Springs at peak vacation season, Kids In LA inverts that thematic motif, opting to explore the empty and slightly-haunted off-season of the vacation world. The glimmering parties and easy social experiences of the first album make way for the disquieting stillness and vacuous silences of abandoned beach chairs, covered pools, and peeling wallpaper.
You can preview a new track below, it's called The Hardest Part. The new album is out May 14 on Cascine Records.
