You like shitty music in a suburban setting? Then the Wellmont Theater, formly known as the Wellmont Theatre, has got a trio of shows for those who have no idea what quality music is like. Well, it was fun while it lasted.
As you may know, ownership of the joint, a stone's throw away from MS.com HQ, switched from Bowery Presents to Live Nation. Get ready to enjoy inflated service fees. It's no matter because I don't think any of you folks who appreciate indie rock will want to be in Montclair tomorrow for past-their-prime preschool punk rockers Blink 182. Like, if you like punk rock, would you really be into Blink 182? If you went to any other gig with a t-shirt, wouldn't you be beaten up on the spot.
In any event, if they are not shitty enough for you, Oct. 12 finds the Jonas Brothers. It begs the question, if you are over 18-years old and you are still into the Jonas Brothers, you are either a) a crazy cat lady who lives with 10 cats, b) pedophile whose going to the gig to look at kids, c) given up on life. When my niece was 7, she was into them, which is the target audience. She's 10 now, and has already over them. She's into showtunes now -- it's a work in progress.
Finally, Oct. 13 finds The Fray, the I Can't Beleive It's Not Coldplay of bands. Thankfully, I'll be in another hemisphere so I'll miss this shiat.
In other words, don't hold you breathe from anything decent to play the Wellmont.
